Whole grain rye bread
This whole grain rye bread is a traditional Swiss sourdough bread made from whole grain rye flour, water and salt. It comes from the canton of Valais and was awarded the AOP label (Appellation d’Origine Protégée – protected designation of origin) in 2004.
The bread is compact and firm, with a dense crumb and a strong crust. It has a rustic appearance and a dark color.
