Pastéis de Nata
Pastéis de Nata
Pastéis de Nata are small Portuguese puff pastry tarts with a delicate cream filling, finely flavored with cinnamon and lemon. Originally invented by monks in Lisbon’s Belém district, they are now an internationally acclaimed delicacy. The crispy golden brown dough makes them irresistible not only visually, but also in terms of taste. Mmm, that’s delicious.
You will learn how to make a laminated puff pastry, prepare the typical dough rolls and line the molds correctly. An expert will also show you how to cook the cream to perfection, fill the Pastéis de Nata neatly, and bake them evenly until they are golden brown. You will also learn how to store the pastry ideally or how to crisp it up again.
The combination of laminated dough, aromatically seasoned cream and high baking temperature creates an explosion of textures: crispy on the outside, wonderfully soft on the inside. This recipe stands for traditional craftsmanship and pure enjoyment in a small format.
Crispy meets creamy
Crispy puff pastry and a velvety cream with cinnamon and lemon combine to create an irresistibly delicate tartlet with a golden brown surface.

Since I was a child, I have been baking cakes with my mother. Later, my godmother, herself a confectioner, brought me even closer to the trade. It soon became clear: “That’s my kind of thing!” Today, I work as an instructor and production manager at Richemont Craft School. I love developing new creations, combining flavors and working with great attention to detail, especially in patisserie. In the online courses, I want to share my love of craftsmanship, precisiion work and a large dose of creativity. «My goal is to pass on the spark of enthusiasm and show how wonderful it is to create something with your hands that others also enjoy.»
