The cooking spoon/ladle is a kitchen utensil for stirring liquids and other foods, mixing ingredients and preventing burning or lumping during preparation.

The spoon/ladle consists of a flat bowl with a handle in different lengths. It often has a tapered corner to better reach the bottom edge of the cooking pot.

The version with a hole is also called a stirring spoon or hole ladle.
