A skimmer or skimming ladle is a kitchen tool used to skim off the foam of egg whites or suspended solids that forms during the initial boil of stocks, soups and sauces.

It is also used for dunking and removing products from a liquid.

The skimmer is usually made of stainless steel and is dishwasher safe.
